Best Dallas Bars

J Black’s – Dallas
Expect to see the standard Uptown/Henderson crowd (ie: beautiful people). The bar bites at J Black’s are awesome and so is the patio.

La Grange – Dallas
La Grange is Deep Ellum’s gem. It has an atmosphere that’s swanky, yet relaxed, with decidedly Texan roots. Case in point: live Texas music and adult sno-cones. That’s right—sno cones spiked with liquor. If that doesn’t get you there, then we don’t know what will.

Lee Harvey’s – Dallas
Lee Harvey’s is an utterly unpretentious dive bar located in south Dallas. Expect friendly staff, a jukebox and plenty of picnic tables outside.

Libertine – Dallas
Situated on lower Greenville, Libertine features ah-mazing hot wings and a staggering selection of beer and infused liquors.

Meddlesome Moth – Dallas
Meddlesome Moth is a gastro-pub in Oak Lawn featuring more than 40 beers on tap and more than 75 bottled. It’s a good alternative if you’re tired of the scene at The Ginger Man.

Meridian Room – Dallas
If you happen to be looking for a bar after spending a day at the State Fair of Texas or after catching a show at the SuperPages.com Center, Meridian Room is conveniently located in Exposition Park. The crowd is diverse, with lots of regulars ranging from 20-somethings to 50-somethings, so everyone can have a good time here.

OE Penguin – Dallas
That’s “one-eyed” penguin if you’re curious. Believe it or not, this bar actually has a penguin mascot costume on-hand that anyone can put on. That’s right—anyone. OE Penguin sits on a second story overlooking downtown Dallas and is a darn good time (mostly due to the penguin suit).

The Common Table – Dallas
The Common Table is a friendly, casual neighborhood bar that sits in a house in Uptown. It’s a great place to hang out with friends on the patio, and they’ve got a large and diverse selection of beers.

Three Sheets – Dallas
A neighborhood tavern situated on Ross Avenue between Uptown and Downtown, Three Sheets features a rich wood interior and billiards and specializes in draft beer, whiskey and scotch. We’re partial to their spacious, semi-covered patio too.

Veritas – Dallas
A staggering list of wines is available at this East Dallas “vino pub,” including several Texas wines, so drink local! The staff at Veritas is amazing and the cheese and charcuterie selection is stellar. Tip: Check out their website to see if there are any free wine tastings coming up.
