Royal Theater
Most widely recognized for its appearance in The Last Picture Show, Royal Theater in downtown Archer City was renovated by a group of local citizens and reopened in August of 2000. Built in the early 1900’s, it’s a true Archer City institution, and the theater is now home to a variety of performing arts, theatrical productions and Branson-style music shows. The theater is also available for weddings and receptions, making your celebration truly timeless.
Booked Up - Archer City
This sprawling, four building book store is the product of Larry McMurtry’s lifelong obsession with books. With Booked Up, the award-winning author of Lonesome Dove and other works has graced Archer City with one of the world’s largest antiquarian bookstores, offering tens of thousands of fine, rare and scholarly books. Prices range from $3 how-to’s to $1000 first editions.
