Cupid’s Got Nothin’ on Us
February 1, 2012

It’s that time of year again. Hearts are fluttering, storefronts are being decorated in red and pink, Hallmark is stocking a fresh selection of love notes…but mostly, you’re probably just stressed. Stressed over what to get for your Valentine, that is. It’s such a balancing act–you don’t want to give something too mushy-gushy or too serious, but definitely don’t want to give (or get) something that isn’t serious enough. Argh!
Don’t fret, my pet. We’ve been thinking outside the box in order to bring you a hand-picked selection of VDay gifts for him and her that are well…pretty darn great.
All The Right Cords
January 30, 2012

Look what we just snagged at Anthropologie… AG Stevie Cords in black at almost 65% off. As you can imagine, it totally made our day. You can snag yours here.
The Equipment You’ll Need this Spring
January 27, 2012

The silk button-down by Equipment has become a ubiquitous cool-girl wardrobe staple. It goes with…well, everything–leather leggings, jeggings, skinnys, cut-offs, a pencil skirt…you get the idea.
So you can imagine our excitement when we stumbled upon the updated-for-spring striped version of the must-have blouse at By George in Austin. The navy-and-green color combo is so fresh, yet somehow we felt we’d seen it somewhere before…
Ah yes, on one of our favorite personal style blogs, Atlantic-Pacific. Check out how she styled hers:

Like we said, the styling options are truly endless.

Found: Khloe K.’s Mavs Tee
January 24, 2012

Mrs. Kardashian-Odom has wasted no time trading her purple and gold for cobalt blue and green since hubby Lamar was traded from the L.A. Lakers to the Dallas Mavericks back in late 2011.
Needless to say, all eyes have been on Khloe at the Mavs’ home games so far this season, and girlfriend has looked great. Most recently, she was spotted wearing a vintage-inspired Mavs tee by Junk Food, and we’ve found it at Plano’s Gameday Cloth. It’s a total must-have for any Mavs fan and rings in at just $38–a major bargain compared to that Hermes arm candy Mrs. O is waving around…
New Alchemy at Feathers

January is such a tease. We’re kind of ready to dress for spring, since we’ve been inundated with spring trend reports for a couple of months now, but it’s too cold to pull the trigger. On the other hand, we’re feeling ho-hum about winter fashion because we’ve been wearing it for months. What’s a girl to do?
Choose wardrobe refreshers that will transition easily from now to then–right now we’re feeling a low-key vibe–we’re just not ready for spring’s fussiness. Something that can easily be paired with boots, jeans or leggings, and a parka, cardigan or blazer now, and cutoffs and gladiators later.

Enter, the latest crop of tanks and tees by Alchemy at Feathers in Austin. We’re loving the graphic (and not in a cheesy way) designs and the semi-faded oh-I’ve-had-this-forever look and feel of the fabric. And at just $40 – $50 a pop, it’s an update you can feel good about.
Perfect for now, perfect for later.

Hey Where’d You Get that T-shirt?
January 19, 2012

One of our fab readers (and evidently, t-shirt designer extraordinaire) tipped us off to her über-cool line of city-themed tees, Charmed Fox. She has a few Austin styles, and our personal fave is the v-neck with the skyline “necklace”:

The tees are sold at a a couple of boutiques in Austin including Best Store Parts & Labour, Prize and Downstairs, but you can also order online through her Etsy shop.
It’s not old. It’s Vintage, and it’s Fabulous.
December 23, 2011

In the world of fashion, there are few names that truly endure. Chanel, Hermes, Dior, YSL. You get the picture.
One of those names is Rolex. The name is synonymous with luxury and classic style. Lo-and-behold, what have we found? Abejas in Houston stocks vintage Rolex watches! Most of them are from the ’70s and ’80s, and, as you can imagine, prices vary. But ooh-la-la, how we’d love to find one of these babies waiting for us under the tree!

Wrist-y Business
December 16, 2011

Confession: we’ve been known to jump on trends. Lots of them. Even the rather-unfortunate-in-retrospect ones.
One of our current obsessions (which we’re pretty sure we’ll never regret) is the layered bracelet look, which often includes a few “haute” friendship bracelets that combine beads and stones with the traditional thread and cord. We love it. We can’t get enough.
But perfecting this look involves more thought than you might think. Your collection of wrist candy needs to be a balance of glam, polish and boho, all carefully curated to not be too uniform. Need an addition to your current collection? Head to Goosefeathers in Corpus, where we spotted this selection:
