Grapevine Main Street Days
May 17, 2012

Even though the thermometer has been clocking in like it’s mid-June, summer hasn’t officially kicked off yet. Make it official at Grapevine Main Street Days this Friday through Saturday in Historic Downtown Grapevine. Not only will there be a carnival (and therefore all the best festival foods—corn dogs, funnel cakes, fried everything), but there will also be a bona fide Pizza Piazza. That’s right, nine Grapevine pizzerias are rolling out their dough for the weekend event that also features live entertainment on six stages. Sip on international wines and craft beers as you shop a variety of different vendors, or hop on a free shuttle to an offsite Grapevine winery tasting session. You can purchase daily tickets for $7, or come out on Friday from 10am-5pm, when admission is free to the public. For a full breakdown of the weekend, click here.

Cowtown Chow Down
May 11, 2012

Fort Worth is quickly making a name for itself as a food truck haven, opening two food truck parks in the past year. The first, Fort Worth Food Park, was an unabashed hit and the second is well on track to be just as successful. Aptly named Cowtown Chow Down, the second park caters to folks roaming between the Downtown Cultural District and the Fort Worth Stockyards and can accommodate up to 20 food trucks at a time, making it one of the largest selections of gourmet food truck dining options in the DFW area. This particular food truck park will feature both covered and indoor climate-controlled seating in addition to an arts and crafts corner and a space for live entertainment. There will be an official grand opening celebration at 10am on Thursday, May 17, but if you can’t make it, don’t worry. Cowtown Chow Down is open seven days a week and will feature these delectable vendors throughout the year.
Portable Pizza Pies
April 27, 2012

Fralo’s Art of Pizza in Boerne has taken its skills to the streets via a vintage fire truck, complete with beer taps and brick oven. Popping up at events all over Boerne and San Antonio, fans of the classic pizzeria are now able to indulge in fresh-from-the-oven pizzas and cold brews without having to call a delivery guy. The Fralo’s fire truck keeps our cravings at bay when we can’t stop in at the brick-and-mortar location, so check their Facebook to see where they’ll pop up next!
Granbury Wine Walk
April 26, 2012

Granbury’s 3rd Annual Wine Walk is going down this Saturday and Sunday, April 27–28 from noon to 8pm both days. For only $20—or $17.50 if you purchase tickets by Wednesday—you’ll get to stroll through a maze of booths featuring 15 Texas wineries like Brennan Vineyards, CALAIS Winery and Los Pinos Ranch Vineyards, each pairing the fruits of their labor with some fine Texas cuisine. Live music and a wine-themed art show is the cherry on top of this vintner-themed event in the heart of downtown Granbury. Get your tickets here.

Main Street Arts Festival
April 18, 2012

Cowtown is pulling out all the stops this weekend for its Main Street Arts Festival happening April 19-22. There’s a little something for everybody at this free event. Beef up your art collection—or start one—after a stop at one of the many tents lining Main St. featuring original works of art ranging from sculptures to paintings. Over 23 restaurants will be offering everything from funnel cakes (McKinney’s) to delicious brats (Reata and Schakolad). There will be three stages featuring live music throughout the weekend from the likes of Gerald Albright, Texas Tornadoes, JJ Grey & Mofro and Del Castillo. Since the event is literally taking over Main St., you’ll want to check out the official festival guide for details on where to park and where everything is going down.
Truck Rally
April 13, 2012

Deep Ellum is shutting down Main Street from Malcom X Blvd. to Crowdus tonight from 5-10pm in honor of the Deep Ellum Food Truck Rally. Nine of your favorite food truck vendors like Zombies Food Truck and the Bacon Wagon will be there all night long for you to grab munchies while you listen to free tunes from local bands like My Wooden Leg, The Roosmunds and Hares on the Mountain. It’s pedestrian-friendly and the bars will stay open well after the last band gets off stage, so don’t miss out!
20th Annual Blessing of the Vines

We’re not the superstitious type, so we wouldn’t dare say that European wines are tasty because the vines are blessed by a priest before each harvest season, but then again, we wouldn’t want to jinx an entire harvest season by passing on the ceremony, either. The vintners of Grapevine share our sentiment, so they’re not ones to mess with customary wine making tradition either. Head to Grapevine on April 14 to witness the 20th Annual Blessing of the Vines at Delaney Vineyards, kicking off at 11am. The event is free and is followed by a complimentary wine tasting and live entertainment. Sure beats the coffee and donuts served after Sunday service…
Wine & Wildflower Trail
April 12, 2012

So you’ve finally finished your spring cleaning—or blissfully ignored it for another year—and you’re ready to enjoy all that Mother Nature has to offer. For ten days from April 13–22, stroll through the Texas Hill Country and its beautiful wildflowers with a glass of wine in hand. There are 33 different wineries in the area, all with the same goal: relax among the wildflowers with wine. Pack a picnic and enjoy a self-guided tour or chill out on one of the many picturesque patios in the area.
Lubbock Arts Festival

If you’re near Lubbock this weekend, be sure to grab a ticket to the Lubbock Arts Festival happening April 13–15. Not only do all proceeds benefit the Lubbock Arts Alliance, but you’ll be able to peruse the works of over 150 artists from across the nation and get an exclusive look at works by Angela Adams. There will be live music by Terri Sue Caldwell and a performance by Don Caldwell & Friends. Tickets are normally $40, but enjoy a free pass on Friday by clicking here.
