We’re movie-lovers here at Shop Across Texas, so we think Grapevine’s First Friday Film Series at the historic Palace Theatre is downright charming. Admission is a wallet-friendly $5, and this Friday they’ll be showing Alfred Hitchcock’s film noir classic, Vertigo, at 7:30pm. Online ticket sales end 24 hours before show time, but you can purchase one at the box office up to one hour before film starts rolling.

Truck Rally
April 13, 2012

Deep Ellum is shutting down Main Street from Malcom X Blvd. to Crowdus tonight from 5-10pm in honor of the Deep Ellum Food Truck Rally. Nine of your favorite food truck vendors like Zombies Food Truck and the Bacon Wagon will be there all night long for you to grab munchies while you listen to free tunes from local bands like My Wooden Leg, The Roosmunds and Hares on the Mountain. It’s pedestrian-friendly and the bars will stay open well after the last band gets off stage, so don’t miss out!
King of Pop (Art)
March 29, 2012

San Antonio’s McNay Art Museum is featuring some of Warhol’s most beloved works in a special exhibit, Andy Warhol: Fame and Misfortune, on loan from the artist’s namesake museum in Pittsburgh now through May 20. Every Sunday during the exhibit, the museum will hold extended hours until 8pm with (bonus!) discounted ticket prices. An art museum that doesn’t shut down at 5pm? It’s no Studio 54, but we’ll take it.
