Finally a bike designed for casual riders with the same engineering attention given to serious cyclists. The Trek Lime ($550) is a retro-style bike with an automatic shifting system, flip-up trunk seat, changeable color “peelz”, puncture proof tires and Shimano’s automated coasting system.

Tom Hanks was one of the first proud owners of a shiny new Lime. He took his regular ride, a bike he has owned for twenty years, in for a tune-up to his dealer, Helen’s Cycles in L.A. He was given a Lime as a loaner, after joyriding around for a while, he decided he just had to have one. He even called Lime “the bike of the future.”
