Antiquing in Georgetown

Traveling the I-35 express between Dallas and Austin? Then you can’t miss the fab shopping and good eats this small town has to offer! We’re sharing the three spots that make Georgetown worth the stop!

Gatherings

The well-edited “vignettes” in Gatherings make it particularly inviting and easy to shop. The selection is primarily furniture, pottery and linens, with a few outdoor pieces here and there. The owner really has a knack for finding interesting objects that we had never thought of, but suddenly can’t live without, and the prices are great.

Rough & Ready Antiques

Upon entering Rough & Ready Antiques, we noticed how spacious and well-organized it is—not the claustrophobic mish-mash you might experience in other places. Rough & Ready is a great source for old wooden wagons—perfect for accenting your yard or garden.

Monument Café

Located right off the square, this locally owned and operated restaurant is designed to look like the Texas roadside cafés of the 1920s–1940s. Droves of people show up every day for Monument Café’s free-range eggs, freshly squeezed juices, organic vegetables, Kobe beef, and homemade fries and onion rings. Everything on the menu is made with 100% real ingredients and cooked (read: not “heated up”) in-house. The made-from-scratch pies and frozen custard are so indulgent that once you try them you’ll be craving them nonstop. It’s the perfect post-shopping pick-me-up!
