GRAPEVINE Weekend Wine Trip
One of the oldest settlements in North Texas, Grapevine, originated under the Lone Star Flag in 1844. The settlement's namesake was the tart, wild mustang grapes, which grew abundantly in the area, and over time gave birth to the burgeoning wine industry of Grapevine.

HELPFUL LINKS

T.V. Munson, the famed horticulturist, used the Mustang grape to save the renowned French vineyards from suffering destruction in the 1880's. The soil conditions, favorable climate, and wider variety of grapes have gained Grapevine recognition for its local vineyards.

The annual GrapeFest is recognized as one of the top 100 North American festivals, and the largest wine festival in the Southwest. GrapeFest brings together wine novices and connoisseurs for a September celebration of magnum proportion, drawing more than 250,000 visitors annually.
